Ingredients:
Black chickpeas (Channa)- 100 gms
Spinach (Palak) - 1 bunch - chop finely
Onion - 1 large - chop
Chole masala - 2 tsp
Tomato puree - 1/4 cup
Tomato - 1
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Garlic - 4 pods chopped
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chili powder - to taste
Oil - 2 tsp
Soak Channa overnight.
Pressure cook till tender.
Brown half the chopped onion in a little oil along with garlic. Add chopped tomato. Grind to make a fine paste.
Take oil in a wok.
Add the cumin seeds
Add the remaining part of onion. Saute.
And the cooked channa and the chopped spinach.
Add turmeric powder, chole masala powder, chili powder and tomato puree and ground paste.
Cook till the spinach is tender.
Add salt to taste. Simmer a while.
Eat with rotis or rice. Delicious.
