I wanted to make momos – and steamed one too. But VK wanted it fried. And so I did not even check out a recipe. Made it my way – part Momo – part samosa – and quite like a spring roll. Hence the name.
Maida ( Refined wheat flour ) - 1 measure
Oil – for deep frying
Salt to taste
Add a little oil to the flour. Rub it in.
And make a soft dough. Keep aside
Filling:
Veggies – shredded – cabbage, carrot, capsicum and a bit of onion.
Olive oil – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Maggi Magic Cube – 1 ( optional) – but it did add a great flavour
Pepper powder - ¼ tsp
Take a wok.
Heat the olive oil
Add the shredded veggies and sauté a while till it loses the moisture and comes together.
Take off fire
Cool.
Roll the dough into small thin puris.
Keep the filling in the centre
Bring the sides together to the middle. Pinch it together.
Deep fry.
Quite delicious.
I still wonder how they would have been if they were steamed. Some other time.
