Microwave Recipe -3 - Oats Kichidi

If you are one, who believes oats is healthy and have it for breakfast everyday ( there are a few I know who do!), this is a good variation.  I thought it was fine - if you are an oats fan.  Saw this in a newspaper.  Remember to eat it hot.

For 1 serving:
1/2 cup oats
1/2 onion - chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tomato ( small) - optional
1/4 cup - green peas ( I used frozen peas)
1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste ( optional - I avoided this ingredient)
1-2 green chillies - finely chopped - according to taste, but remember oats is very bland
Lime juice - few drops
Coriander leaves for garnish
In a microwave safe bowl, add olive oil, cumin, onion, turmeric powder, paste, green chillies
Microwave for 4 mins.
Add the green peas, chopped tomatoes, microwave again with a lid - fresh peas can pop - so chop them
Remove lid.
Add oats and 1/2 glass of water  and microwave uncovered for about 2 mins.
Remove, squeeze fresh lime
Fluff with fork. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Eat it while it is hot.
