Spinach-Dal ( another recipe)
Ingredients:
Mung Dal ( Split green gram dal) - 100 gms
Spinach - 1 bunch
Onion - 1 medium
Tomato - 2 medium
Green chillies - 2 nos
Jeera ( cumin seeds) - 1 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
( or substitute with fresh ingredients 2 garlic, 1/4" piece ginger)
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt and red chillie powder - to taste
Boil Mung dal in a pressure cooker or soak for half hour and cook in a little water till done
Saute chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and green chillies till onions are browned well. And grind to fine paste.
Take a wok, heat a little oil/ or ghee
Add the jeera and allow to brown
Add the ground paste, saute a while
Add chopped tomato, continue to saute till they are done
And the chopped spinach.
Cook
Add the boiled dal, salt and chilie powder.
Add sufficient water to make a pouring consistency.
Simmer
Serve hot.
(dal served on rice, with green/raw banana fry)

yummmy, very tempting...I use frozen spinach for my recipe comes out quite nice...
