Do not get misled that it is another recipe for Palak dhal ( Keerai). A little more like the Konkani Ambat type with a distinct peppery taste. Try it.
Ingredients:
Spinach - 2 bunches
Tuvar Dhal - 1/4 cup
Coconut - 1/2 small
Urad dhal - 1 tbsp
Pepper - 1 tsp
Rice - 1 tbsp
Red chillies - 2
Chop spinach. Boil in little water till soft. Mash with spoon.
Cook the dhal and mash well.
In a little oil roast the urad dhal, pepper, red chillies and the rice.
Grind this with the coconut to a fine paste.
Add the mashed spinach to cooked dhal. Place on fire.
Add the ground paste.
Cook a while.
Season with mustard.
